Concentrating on the figure, Passicot usually finds the smooth countenance of her subjects caught in a seemingly quiet moment. Her refusal to pin meaning on them gives her work a slightly mysterious quality. The depictions themselves seem to know secrets as they peer through the glass, inviting viewers into Passicot’s world of imagination, where porcelain-complected strangers share intimate and silent thoughts.

Passicot’s renderings are not even slightly blended or smudged. This technique gives them a certain charming aloofness that is at moments interrupted by the depicted touch of a hand, a gently smiling face, the playfulness of a wind-up knob on the back of a doll-like woman or the inclusion that has been set aside to expose the reserved and soft-spoken personality underneath.

As an internationally exhibiting artist, Passicot has won several awards for her work. She is a Signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, and the San Francisco Women Artists Gallery, as well as a published illustrator of children’s books
