Jessica Dunne is a highly accomplished painter and printmaker, whose new, fresh works of oil on panel are presented in our Director’s Choice Gallery. Dunne’s small elegant still life paintings convey a sense of serene introspection where commonplace objects and sights capture and impress upon us the feel of a particular moment in time. Her latest body of work affords us an intimate glimpse into Dunne’s recent travels, where her narratives spread across continents, as she mixes the old and the new from Western Europe to the East coast. Urban environments and rural landscapes invite us into scenes of isolation, abandoned by human form, yet that are strangely poetic in their sense of place.
