David Furman is a master at fooling the eye. This body of work is dubbed ‘drop dead realism’. It is truly a superb approach to serious realism in clay. In no way would anyone think anything but how totally authentic it looks from both the surface and elements used to complete an idea. Be fooled and enjoy glorious results.

The clay forms of Tetsuji Aono are almost out of this world as he plays with ideas about the Soapman. Far from any reality, this provocative and engaging imagery gives the impact of the absurd. His figures formed as strange soap dish heads and inventive bodies are coupled with the clever use of jewelry like boxes as decorative pedestals.

Annabeth Rosen reinvents the elements of clay. The fragments created are intuitive resulting in organic, fluid and malleable patterns. One might view her work as being formed with reckless abandon, but what results without any formal organization is truly dramatic. She is a master at creating a visual active surface and design using the elements of entangled clay to form a raw energy thus giving geometric abstraction a new dimension.
