With the onset of the 15th century,
artists returned to portraying allegories of life using
classical symbolism. These esoteric traditions continued through
the Renaissance but waned and nearly disappeared by the late
18th century.
In this new body
of mixed media work, Hood revisits these classical and
traditional symbols and brings them into a cross-cultural and
sometimes surreal setting where they are given new life.
