Laura Hohlwein’s new works are
fragments of language and layers of images culled from
personal sources. Her art stems from drafts of poetry,
older paintings, memories and photographs of revisited
places. The interiors mimic our many simultaneous modes of
experiencing and processing the moment. Hohlwein perfects
the associations by combining what the eye sees with what
the mind sees. She adjusts our conscious mind by
dynamically painting a landscape or interior within the
abstract mode creating a whole new visual experience.
