Fred Gordon’s award winning paintings and sculpture reflect his interest
in riparian habitats, and his love of fly fishing. He has exhibited his
art throughout the western United States for the past 30 years.
Gordon
states: "Nature will always supply me with an endless source of
inspiration by its beauty, nobility, and sheer struggle for survival. I
strive to bring the viewer's attention to both the beauty and
vulnerability of our threatened wilderness. Through my art and
fly-fishing I have made many friends and allies who have shared my love
and concerns about the natural world."
Gordon’s wall masks are stunning and powerful examples of intricate
weavings of ceramic and sometimes mixed media materials. There is a
sense of the romantic mysticism for those who have a special love and
affection for the sport of fishing as well as collectors of unusual and
inspiring ceramics.
