Bryan offers further exploration of the paradoxes of humans and nature
and the tenuous balances two forces struggle to make. Based in an inherent
belief in the beauty, majesty and mystery of the world, Bryan uses that as
a backdrop to highlight the absurdities and dangers of human nature.
Though often religious and political, Bryan’s images do not preach to
the viewer. Instead, the artist uses humor, exaggeration and a cast of
cartoon-like characters to create paintings that focus upon uncomfortable
truths. Bryan invites the viewer into his narrative adventures,
encouraging them to think about their world-about the many ways in which
humans disconnect from nature, and the power available to us when we find
a positive way to grasp the mysteries of life.
