These artists intertwine bold, yet dark color palettes with humor in their illustrative paintings. Their timely “advice” coincides with that annual day of love, Valentine’s Day. Originally a pagan holiday celebrating the god of fertility, it was later outlawed in the 5^th Century and rededicated to the martyred Saint Valentine, in hopes that the people would try to act more saintly. Instead, the people preferred to celebrate the more romantic and sensual aspects of the holiday.
