Gary Dinnen received his Master’s in art
at California State University in 1982. He demonstrates
versatility in a number of mediums including drawing, oil
painting, watercolor and ceramics. Some might define his works as
narrative expressionism, but in truth Dinnen creates
situations that allow the viewer a vehicle to access their
experience and engage their imagination. Dinnen’s
freewheeling spirit never ceases to entertain the viewer no matter
what the medium. His ceramic works are playful, whimsical and just
plain cool.
Collecting Dinnen ceramics provides everyone
immediate and sheer pleasure. The work is distinguished by
his use of vibrant colors and comical characters. Dinnen’s next
exhibition is from October 9-November 1, 2003, and will convey
another dimension of his animated and lively creations. In this
show, titled A Box of Biscuits - A Box of Mixed Biscuits, and A
Biscuit Mixer, Dinnen goes beyond the single animal to create
a humorous story for all to take pleasure in and enjoy.
