Tom Gracy |
Tom Gracy’s mindscapes are edgy and at times almost "out
of this world". With a decidedly surreal quality, he creates
scenes that, at first glance, seem plausible, but upon closer
examination, are highly unlikely. There are natural elements of
a landscape in his paintings, but a viewer will empathize with a
solitary tree and at the same time feel the loneliness of an
endless fallow field. Gracy confirms that his inner eye
perceives an entirely different point of view.

Chris Newhard |
Chris Newhard takes us back to
different mood and period with his turn of the century tonalist
view of paintings. He deptly renders the California hills near
Folsom and awakens us from dawn to dusk, with muted colors, soft
contours that evoke a quiet, thoughtful mood. His tone plays
with low-key color harmony along with diffused and diminished
lighting effects. Newhard’s contemporary view is of the here and
now.

Larry Welden |
Welden is a Sacramento favorite.
A master of painting, Larry Welden for the past fifty years,
continues his tranquil use of the paintbrush. The delicate and
fluid application of his selected substrate offers a sensitive
view of water, mountains, skies or a high valley street. Welden
is salient and contemplative. In painting he applies the
physical qualities inherent in watercolor paper or canvas
allowing the spontaneity of his brush to weave abstractively
throughout his works.
