Artists Coloring Book for People who Aren't - December 12 – 28, 2002

Featuring work by: Alan Post, John Stuart Berger, Ken Waterstreet, Phyllis Cottrell, Gary Dinnen, Arthur Sordillo, Julian Faulkner, Mark Bryan, …and others

A collection of paintings and drawings by Solomon Dubnick Artists and invited guest artists, have been converted into black and white line drawings, and compiled into an Artists Coloring Book for People Who Aren’t…begging to be liberated by Crayolas. The original life-size works of art will be on exhibit through the month of December. Recipients of this unique gift become artists in their own right by reinventing one of Alan Post’s color schemes, or one of Gary Dinnen’s animal faces. Works by John Stuart Berger and Ken Waterstreet are open to interpretation as well.

The Artists Coloring Book takes a light-hearted look at established artists working both nationally and in Sacramento. The artworks inside introduce children to the friendly, contemporary artists exhibited by Solomon Dubnick Gallery, and to an adult may awaken an unknown affiliation for creating art.

Each of the original works for the pages of the coloring book will be available for purchase at the exhibition during December.  A sampling of the eclectic collection appears below...
