This
exhibition focuses on the process of drawing and painting the figure.
The works featured will be the product of two group sessions
with a single model.
The purpose is to offer the public a look at the method and the
progress of figural drawings and paintings done from life.
“Drawn to the Figure” will be comprised of a variety of
works, ranging from sketches to finished pieces, by each of eleven
artists who concentrate primarily on the figure.
Included will be work by the model, Amber Cook—blurring the
boundary between artist and subject.
The
show is to benefit the Fred Dalkey exhibition at the Crocker Museum in
2002.
