Lenore McDonald’s work takes the form of small abstract oils on panel. Her paintings are all based on images of the landscape, and through the application of paint and choice of color, it is as if the landscape content literally emerges from the paint itself. The artist’s work embodies a sense of the ethereal as she depicts her response to seeing nature that surrounds her in an urban setting; landscapes that are tucked between the sharp geometry of buildings or framed by windows.
