“This work, asks ‘How do I know who I am?’  exploring the many roles in life, and the many different “sides” of personality. I am able to examine my self as “other” in a way far removed from traditional self-portraiture. The multiple layers of self-consciousness implicit in these works relate to the intense self-consciousness of life and art making in the 21st Century. As with Rorschach tests, what people say about this work often tells me more about the person’s outlook on life than about the painting.
